Do you waterproof before tiling?

Yes. Showers, bathroom floors, laundries and balconies are waterproofed before any tile goes down. Waterproofing is the part you cannot see once the job is finished, which is exactly why it cannot be skipped.

Can you fix a leaking shower without redoing the whole bathroom?

Often, yes. If the leak is failed grout or silicone, a regrout and reseal can solve it. If the membrane underneath has failed, the shower needs to be stripped and redone, and we will show you the evidence before recommending it.
